Yesterday, the first day of this week's TCT Show 2017 was a busy day for us. Our Formfutura team at the TCT show have been working hard to answer all questions of visitors an exhibitors.
Displaying our complete 3D printer filament portfolio, visitors and exhibitors will get a complete insight in our high quality and innovative filament offer.
A team of JetX Engineering has joined at the TCT to showcase their 3D printed X-Plorer 1 jet engine. Formfutura is proud to be one of the partners of this great project, where the X-Plorer 1 jet engine is exclusively printed using Formfutura filaments.
The first JetX engine of the X-Plorer family is here to change everything in aerospace education. The X-Plorer 1 was entered development in late 2014 and stage 1 optimisation was complete in August 2016. 40 young engineers worked hard in various stages of the development of subsystems from pneumatics to electronics.
Prototyping began in October 2016, following the completion of the testing phase which brought 150 parts from design to reality. 3D printing all the necessary parts will require an estimated 1800 printing hours and almost 3km of filament!
